Sarah Jacobson, a Brooklyn-based documentary editor and filmmaker, is a master of character-driven, non-linear storytelling, wielding its profound ability to foster empathy. Her cinematic journey spans from acclaimed Vimeo Staff Pick shorts to the Emmy Award-winning We Could Be King (Tribeca 2014), captivating audiences worldwide at prestigious festivals like SXSW, Full Frame, BAMCinemaFest, and Telluride MountainFilm Festival. Sarah's editorial wizardry shines in recent works like Us Kids (Sundance 2020) and CUSP (Sundance 2021), showcasing her talent for weaving gripping narratives.
Beyond editing, she co-directed Have No Fear (Visions du Réel, 2017), exploring activist Adia Whitaker's mission to protect her children from police brutality through performance. Currently, Sarah's lens is focused on her latest creation, Jewel Streets, revealing the struggle of a perpetually flooded NYC neighborhood. As a 2016 fellow at the UnionDocs Collaborative Studio and a member of the Alliance of Documentary Editors, Sarah Jacobson continues to shape the world through her transformative storytelling.
